Agreement to bring on-the-ground strategy, marketing, and placement to clients in the fast moving health goods segment

PHILADELPHIA, May 20, 2009 – XtraGlobex, a Philadelphia-based strategic business development and communications firm with multinational clients has announced a strategic alliance with Sohum Graphics Pvt Ltd, a Mumbai India-based advertising and communications agency focused on providing marketing services and consultancy to the fast moving health goods (FMHG) segment. The alliance will bring Sohum’s extensive expertise in strategy development and marketing support in the Indian FMHG segment to the XtraGlobex US clients, enabling exciting opportunities for growth into that burgeoning marketplace.

“We are thrilled to have formed this alliance with Sohum,” said Fady Sahhar, founding partner at XtraGlobex. “India’s economy continues to grow as a star among global economies, and its Consumer Packaged Goods industry is evolving rapidly, especially in the healthcare arenas.” Clients overseas are well-advised to consider entering India at this point, Sahhar said, and XtraGlobex is excited to be able to offer this unique combination of international awareness and on-the-ground savvy.

The mindset of the Indian consumer is changing rapidly, contributing to the marketplace shift. “The emerging contemporary mantra in India is ‘wellness,’” said Suhas Wadwalkar, head of Brand Communications for Sohum. “Factors like cues from cultural role models, rising consumer awareness, changing regulatory thought process, and the newly booming pharmacy retail format, combined with a high demand and relatively few products and players in the space, are coming together to make this the perfect time for entering the Indian market with goods like nutraceuticals, OTC pharmaceuticals, and other health and wellness products.” Sohum recently published an article examining the business case for entering today’s FMHG market in India in the ExpressPharma journal. That article can be accessed on the ExpressPharma website here: FMHG market in India—A close view

Through this alliance, XtraGlobex and Sohum are positioned to provide clients in the US who are interested in entering the Indian market, with international and local partners possessing exceptional skills, knowledge, infrastructure, R&D and production facilities, marketing sales force, distribution, and logistics to cover India’s diverse national markets.

“There could not be a better time to enter the Indian markets,” said Wadwalkar. “We are excited to be working with XtraGlobex to bring even more high-quality products into this wide open marketplace.”

We all know the best brands are integrated! Ours is no exception. To that end, we are revamping everything over here at XtraGlobex headquarters. From new business cards, letterhead, and envelopes, down to our email signatures and fax coversheets, everything is evolving along with us. We’re working to distill our essence into key symbols and design elements, and it’s coming along so well! What that also means is that our site needs to evolve. Not only does the logo need updating and the other graphics refreshing, but we have new case studies to showcase, technology to implement, and staff to introduce! So be on the lookout for our evolved look and feel over the next few weeks. If you have any questions, of course, you can always get in touch!

Our New Logo

XtraGlobex, Inc.

We’ve been working long and hard on a new logo, one that reflects the evolution of our company from its roots in strategic and technological business development, into an agency that has broadened its focus to encompass a strong creative and marketing presence. Many vastly different directions were considered, but we ultimately decided on the evolutionary framework – we aren’t breaking with our past, we are growing into our new identity!

This logo parses our name, which in itself is strong. A key element of a redesign is making the best use of the resources you already have within your brand, and our name says so much about us: the Xtra talks about more, higher, greater, outside the box, a modern edge; Globex gives it symmetry while focusing on our global reach and endeavors; Inc. brings it together into a cohesive organization, a team, an integrated combination of talents and solutions.

The fonts in our new logo are key message elements, used to display the core facets of our identity as an organization. Xtra uses a serif font, reminiscent of a standard word processor font, yet slightly more modern – it represents our strategic/business element; the second font is closer to a system/terminal font and speaks to our technical element; and the third font is a hand script with some flare and edge, evoking our creative element.

In addition, it evolves our original globe concept, but moves away from the sunrise (which was powerful, but ultimately ungainly in printing!) and instead has a ring of abstract flame – surrounding the world with energy, lighting a fire for our clients.
