Onward Towards Value Based Payments in Human Services

Fady Sahhar of XtraGlobex to Speak on Multiple Panels
at the 2019 RCPA Conference

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

(Philadelphia, PA, September 21, 2019) XtraGlobex, Inc. President and Founder Fady Sahhar will share insights about the challenges and rewards of Value-Based Payments in the delivery of Managed Long Term Services and Supports in two informational sessions and a panel discussion at the 2019 Rehabilitation & Community Providers Association Conference, “IMPACT,” September 24-27, 2019 in Hershey, Pennsylvania.

“I’m delighted to be back to meet with colleagues old and new at this conference,” Fady says, “and continue our efforts to help providers smooth the way for the difficult changes ahead. We’re committed to helping them prepare for the future, from understanding the big picture to the nuts and bolts at every stage of the shift to value. It’s an excellent opportunity for organizations to learn how to be ready for whatever their next stage is.”

RCPA’s annual conference is a highlight for the Pennsylvania mental health, drug and alcohol, intellectual and developmental disabilities, children’s, brain injury, medical/vocational rehabilitation, and physical disabilities and aging provider communities.

“Value-based payments are already driving decisions in Managed Long Term Services and Supports and are an integral part of their successful implementation,”Fady adds. “We want to make sure organizations have a clear understanding, strategies and tools to optimize VBPs’ consumer health and wellbeing, quality, and financial rewards, especially with the increasing use in Intellectual and Developmental Disability (I/DD) and Behavioral Health. In working with Community-Based Organizations since last year’s conference, we’ve gained even more insight into effective transition strategies and best practices moving forward. We have a lot to share!”

Fady will present two informational sessions at the conference. “Tips & Secrets for MCO Contracting: A Voices for Independence Case Study to Demonstrate Success” will detail a Nursing Home Transition process that anticipated changes under managed care and developed detailed measures for demonstrating its effectiveness in supporting consumers transitioning from nursing facilities into the community.

In his second session, “Value-Based Payments Are in Your Organization’s Future – One Year Update,” Fady will review how VBP trends have affected  the operations of human service agencies in Pennsylvania and other states during the past year and share strategies to be responsive and to maintain a competitive advantage.

In a concluding plenary session at the conference, Sahhar joins the leadership of the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services on “A Panel Discussion of The DHS Perspective on Pennsylvania’s Journey Towards Value-Based Payments.” He will moderate a broad-ranging interactive session geared to give providers a clearer understanding of how VBPs may apply to their organizations today and in the near future, with answers to their specific questions.
